NOVEL MSCA Postdoctoral Programme
“The University of Eastern Finland in Finland has launched NOVEL MSCA Postdoctoral Programme – a pioneering postdoc programme focused on brain health research and innovation.
The world needs novel solutions to address brain health challenges that impact individuals and society. Research is needed to support early prediction, personalized treatments, advancements in methods and technologies, and the development of responsible innovation and ethical approaches. To address this, NOVEL focuses on pioneering research in brain health. We combine expertise in neuroscience, data science, innovation management, health economics, and legal studies.
NOVEL offers 14 postdoctoral fellowships with the opportunity to design and lead your own brain health research project. We offer full funding and support for travel and secondments for 3 years.
The programme includes a mandatory 2–6-month intersectoral secondment, as well as opportunities for additional academic or intersectoral secondments and short visits. We also offer tailored training and ample support for research and career planning.
NOVEL is hosted by the University of Eastern Finland (UEF). UEF is one of the most interdisciplinary universities in Finland and has world class resources for interdisciplinary brain health research, including unique data sets and broad infrastructure. All chosen researchers will carry out their research at UEF’s Kuopio campus in Kuopio, Finland.
Our first call is open from March 1, 2025, until May 31, 2025, with 9 positions open in the research areas of Prevention & Care and Methods and Data.
Our second call is open from November 1, 2025, until February 28, 2026, with 5 positions open in the research areas of Innovation in Society and Ethics & Wellbeing.
