Opportunities brought by AI lie at the core of Orkestr.io
“Experience has shown us that if we are going to participate in these kinds of activities, we should really go for it and aim at making a difference. Otherwise, things tend to get halfway done and you fail to achieve proper results.”
Opportunities brought by AI lie at the core of Orkestr.io
When Orkestr.io was established around ten years ago, the company started as a traditional software developer in the IT sector. The company later specialised in health technology, and has most recently been breaking ground as a specialist in artificial intelligence (AI) solutions.
The company recently launched the palkkaa.ai website that aims at bringing AI closer to humans and provide more information about it: what it is, who can benefit from it, and what are the opportunities it brings.
– We wanted to stimulate down-to-earth discussion on this topic that many still feel is shrouded in mystery, explains Olavi Goussev, the entrepreneur of Orkestr.io.
The core team of the company operating in Kuopio, Vantaa and Lappeenranta has six people. While the company’s operations are focused on Kuopio, it aims at the global market. Goussev feels it is important to set your aims high.
– We want to become top experts on a global scale in applying AI in healthcare, enterprise resource planning across professional fields, and process modelling. On the same footing as other global major players.
Best to exert influence at the core of activities
Orkestr.io has already been involved in the Kuopio Health ecosystem activities for a couple of years. The company’s CEO Janne Parkkila is also a member of the company’s board.
Goussev explains that the aim is to be as close to core of the health technology cluster and the ecosystem activities as possible. One of the goals is to also discover new partners. Orkestr.io aims to be open to new opportunities, and work of the ecosystem board has seemed highly promising.
– Experience has shown us that if we are going to participate in these kinds of activities, we should really go for it and aim at making a difference. Otherwise, things tend to get halfway done and you fail to achieve proper results. We want to achieve concrete results in Kuopio Health, Goussev says.
Although the 2020 coronavirus outbreak has disrupted operations, the after-work drinks and morning coffee meet-ups organised by the ecosystem have provided good information about issues such as information security, tackling sales challenges and developing personal competence.
Concrete collaboration
Olavi Goussev believes that Orkestr.io can provide the ecosystem with competence in software development and AI utilization in the IT and healthcare sector, which could also benefit many other companies.
– Our competence could be applied to the needs of highly different companies. We have not yet been able to find all partners who we could collaborate with in promoting this. Combining this sort of technology with concrete use cases can produce brilliant results. We are sure to discover a lot of market gaps together with other companies, he estimates.
The open innovation ecosystem of Kuopio Health is also attractive thanks to the opportunities it creates for collaboration between educational institutions and public healthcare providers. Nevertheless, Goussev emphasises that this cooperation must be translated into concrete actions.
– It’s not enough to talk about all the great things you are doing and that we could do something together one of these days. All this talk must be translated into actual business, he says.
