Presenting Kuopio Health members: Networking is the way to go for Productivity Leap
“There are extremely talented and intelligent people working in the health industry. It is always a joy to work with them, as we are looking for new things highly actively and systematically.”
Networking is the way to go for Productivity Leap
Networking plays a major role in the operations of Productivity Leap, an IT consulting company. This is the case when it comes to IT partners, ecosystems and technology partners alike.
Productivity Leap creates tailored IT systems for its clients, which mainly represent public administration and the finance sector. The company’s activities are focused on areas such as knowledge management, enterprise data warehouses, reporting, analytics and robotics.
Kari Natunen, the company’s CEO, points out that small organisations should be keen on networking.
“We also cooperate with other IT companies. We can be partners in some situations while being competitors, subcontractors or main contractors in others. Our operations are highly dynamic.”
Company with rapid growth
Productivity Leap is a rather young company. It was established in 2018. Today, the company already employs around 40 people and has offices in Joensuu, Kuopio, Tampere, Turku and Helsinki.
Kari Natunen explains that the consulting business has been growing rapidly. The company’s turnover was EUR 2.9 million last year and will be 4.5 million this year.
Productivity Leap joined the Kuopio Health open innovation ecosystem in spring 2021.
Natunen highlights the significance of attitudes in the innovation ecosystem.
“We have no specific expectations. The idea is to get involved with an open mind and examine the new opportunities emerging from this combination of people and companies. You should not be too hasty in thinking about how you will benefit from the activities and becoming protective of what you are doing.
Productivity Leap has already been involved in the CleverHealth Network, an ecosystem operating in the HUS region.
In the Kuopio Health open innovation ecosystem, data refinery and analytics are the angles from which Productivity Leap can work on product ideas emerging from research.
Natunen describes engaging in cooperation as very inspiring.
“There are extremely talented and intelligent people working in the health industry. It is always a joy to work with them, as we are looking for new things highly actively and systematically.”
Serving as a link producing added value
According to Natunen, one of Productivity Leap’s strengths is the fact that the company can play various roles in the ecosystem.
“We understand different fields and can serve as a link between, say, physicians and IT professionals. That enables us to produce added value to those involved in the ecosystem.
Natunen points out that, in healthcare, new innovations can actually change the world.
“Our employees like it that we get to be part of such meaningful work. Money is secondary if we can discover ways or models that help a researcher in oncology or cardiology invent a new solution that will help people.”
At best, this innovation will solve global problems, at which point we will also be raking in some euros.
